Top engineering colleges in West Bengal 2022 lists top 25 engineering colleges in the state. After arguing on the authenticity of India Today and Times of India ranking of engineering colleges, it was really necessary to give students an alternative ranking based on some absolute values (closing ranks admitted) on which everyone can agree. Haldia Institute of Technology is at par with Heritage. Mechanical Engineering degree is very much renowned from this college. The opening ranks for Mech Engg are close to Jadavpur Metallurgical and Production branches. I had friends who left Metallurgical engineering in Jadavpur to join Mechanical Engineering in Haldia inst of Tech
6th in cse in east India I mean.
The biggest question going in my mind for the last 2 years is if sit,wbut Kolkata is ranked 49 all India by outlook , ranked 6th as best for cse and it even affiliates 217 or 99% collages how u are considering it at the back?
At least Microsoft is coming to see if there is any talent though it hasn’t got any.

Sir , with due respect I would like to point out the mistake in your ranking system. Kindly, do not rank the colleges just according to the opening and closing ranks in wbjee, rank them for on the basis of faculty,infrastructure, student quality(optional), reputation, alumni and maybe several other points. It is my rightful duty to point out that Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is just behind Jadavpur Univ. And IIEST, shibpur, in all these factors. You may also want to verify its autonomous status granted by MHRD(2011) to convert it soon into an university. It is the third oldest premier technical institution in the state of west Bengal. So it would be my earnest request to review your ranking and show it correctly in public since this is a matter of reputation of a premier college whose alumni are spread internationally and are teaching in eminent institutes like IITs, NITs, etc.

According to your list the government colleges of ceramic technology ,leather technology and 2 of the textile technology colleges in west bengal which offers B.tech in computer science and engineering is not mentioned in the top 30 list which is pretty much shocking…where as colleges like Siliguri institute of technology,Seacom etc are among the top 30…hillarious and astonishing…don’t misguide students pls

You can go Haldia heritage and techno(salt lake )for core branches and for computer science and Information technology you can go to Netaji ,nerula Haldia if it would be possible.or you can try to techno too.but i suggest for this you choose cote branches in Haldia and heritage.and rest depends upon year wise cittoff

this is the only govt clg in WB which offers admsion thru AIEEE & WBJEE …..
but but there only 1 branch in the clg ie power engg ….
top cos came here 4 campus drives and students are selected at a higher package than NIT DURGAPUR ELECTRICAL ENGG STUDENTS ….

Zahid sir,West Bengal University of Technology(WBUT) does not organise WBJEE.WBJEE is organised by mainly Jadavpur University and Bengal Engg. and Science University(BESU),Shibpur and some other govt. and private colleges.but JU and BESU are mainly responsible for the WBJEE.and the ranking mentioned above by you is almost correct.
