Is it true that students with industrial exposure of more than 2 year and valid GATE score are given preference during MTECH admission?
And
Is M.S. course given my most institutions equivalent to MTech regarding all aspects. Please explain the differences and worth of M.S. from IIT than conventional group from NIT Warangal?
Thank you.

Formula for calculating GATE score
S = Sq+(St-Sq)[(M – M q )/(M’t-Mq)]
Where
S = GATE Score (normalized) of the candidate
M = Marks abtained by the candidate in specific paper
Mq = Qualifying marks for general category in that paper
M’t = average marks of top 0.1% or 10 (whichever is higher) of the candidate in paper
Sq = GATE score assigned to qualifying marks (usually 300)
St = GATE score assigned to top 0.1% candidates (usually 900)
Zahid bhai can you please tell in terms of marks how much mark it needs to get Gate score of 800
This year GATE score is calculated using different formula..So one can’t guess the mark for a GATE score of 800. It depends on topper’s mark .If a topper is having 67 marks his score is 1000. Like that it goes on. This time some changes have been implemented.
Hi, Mr. Zahid….
What does open and close mean??????
Does it give the range of Ranks that have got admitted to that particular branch….
Open n close mean opennibg and closing ranks.
no..it’s gate score…here open means a student with highest gate score admitted…
Open means highest score of the student admitted to that particular course and close means the lowest score of the student admitted to that particular course. It varies for Gen,OBC ,SC/ST as mentioned in the picture above
Hey..this is a great article, it hepled me a lot
